“Only you can heal yourself. No one understands your pain better than you.”
Since childhood we are made to believe that comfort for our pains lies outside of us, in parents, sibling, uncles/aunties and friends. As grown-ups, we still look for these comforts in others. This has become a human nature to expect comforting and calming of oneself in situations that bring pain and anxiety should come from outside, from others. But we fail to understand that the pain, the discomfort in within us, only we can heal this. External help can be helpful initially but eventually we have to fight this pain.
Very simple way to heal oneself is to start the healing process by ourselves. Beginning of the healing process is the key and difficult part of the process. We should speak to our loved ones who care for us, when we are hurt or go through difficult situations. They can only give us advice and support to help us get through, but it’s only us who have the ability to make the final decision. Because unless we make the decision and take action, nobody can bring the change or lessen our pain.
Simply discover the ways to comfort yourself whether it’s spending time doing things you like to do or devoting time with yourself. Ultimately, it’s all about your healing, nobody knows you better than you or can do this better than you.
